My health philosophY
I believe a whole foods diet and healthy lifestyle habits are the foundations of health. Although every person's dietary needs vary, everyone benefits from a whole-foods based diet of "SOUL" foods:
S- Seasonal, O- Organic, U- Unrefined, L- Local
Your body is very wise and holds within it the way to optimal health. This is where the "intuition" of eating comes in and I help people tune into what kinds of foods, ways of eating, and lifestyle habits truly work for them. There is not one particular "diet" or way of eating that works for everyone. Life is forever changing and I work with you to find what you need and how to adjust when changes occur to keep the balance. At the end of the day I want you to look and feel your best.
I have spent many years on a journey towards healing, and the first step for me in that journey started in the kitchen. I first learned to make a handful of homemade healthy dishes, and little by little I kept learning new recipes while researching as much as I could about the nutrition in the foods I was eating. As my food choices and daily eating habits changed over time, so did my health. I not only felt better in general but I noticed that the foods I ate had an effect on the stability of my moods, the energy I had throughout the day, my ability to focus, my immunity (I was no longer catching every cold and flu around me), my weight, and the health of my skin, hair, and nails. I became a true believer in the power of food and set off to school to learn the culinary arts and to become a holistic nutrition consultant. I have been happily working with clients ever since to help them transform their health.
